Car prices in Pakistan have skyrocketed in the last few years. Now when a person feels he has saved enough to buy a specific car, by the time he goes out searching for it he finds out the prices have jumped Rs 100,000 or Rs 200,000. This is a very dispiriting situation, especially for the middle-class who save meticulously to buy a car that can satisfy their needs.

This is why we have compiled this article where we have mentioned every car in different price ranges. This should help aspiring car buyers find the best car within their budget.

Cars below PKR 5,00,000

Below PKR 5,00,000, you can only find used cars in Pakistan. That too usually A and B segment cars. Specific models include Daihatsu Charade, Daihatsu Cuore, Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Khyber, Suzuki Mehran, Suzuki FX, and Suzuki Cultus older than 2003.

The difference between these cars might not be much except for their looks and interior.

However, there are some old cars like Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Corolla 1986, Honda Civic 1986, Nissan Sunny 1987 LX, Suzuki Margalla GL Plus 1995, and Chevrolet Exclusive LS 2003, which are C-segment cars but can be bought under PKR 5,00,000.

Furthermore, you can also find an old Suzuki Bolan which is a minivan but its older models can be found for less than PKR 5,00,000.

That’s all the Pakistani cars you can get at this price point. If you can afford a bit more, the next price range is for you.

5,00,000 to 10,00,000

Unfortunately, even at this price range, there is no new car in Pakistan. You will still have to purchase a used one. However, there are more varieties and features in this price range.

First off, the cars mentioned in the below 5,00,000 range, can also be found in the 5,00,000-10,00,000 range but in better conditions and a bit later models. Therefore, we are not mentioning those cars again.

The other cars you can find at this price range are Hyundai Santro Club 2003, Toyota Platz F 1.3 2000, KIA Spectra 1.5 2001, Suzuki Liana RXi, Suzuki Potohar Basegrade 2007, Honda City EXi 2001-2005, and Suzuki Every GA.

These are all really good cars if well maintained. As you can see Suzuki Potohar amongst these is a mini SUV and has been a household car for people who like off-roading and adventures. Although the Suzuki Potohar has uncomfortable seats and bad road grip, having such a car in this price range is a thing in itself.

Then we have the Suzuki Every which is a minivan and can accommodate 7 people. The rest of the cars mentioned above are c-segment sedans except for Hyundai Santro which is an A-segment mini-compact car.

PKR 10,00,000 to PKR 20,00,000

Now, this is a price range where we can find several new cars although they are limited to only A and B segment cars. Let’s start from the most affordable and then move all the way to PKR 2 million.

The most affordable new car right now in Pakistan is United Bravo, which is a rebadged Chinese car known by the name of Dahe DH350. It’s priced at 1.03 million and was launched right when Suzuki Mehran was discontinued in 2018.

United is a Pakistani brand and therefore all manufacturing is done here, except for the engine which is imported from China. United Motors is here to stay and is planning on launching its cars in other segments as well. Right after Bravo’s launched buyers requested some changes and the manufacturer was able to provide them quite sooner. This is unusual for car companies in Pakistan and shows their brand value.

Prince Pearl and we are very fortunate that it launched last year. It’s a very beautiful car compared to its more expensive competitors. It’s locally manufactured and has a very beautiful interior, exterior, power steering, power windows, keyless entry, and company-fitted LED. These features were not provided in Suzuki Mehran which belonged to the same segment but only has recently been discontinued.

Just as we go up, we can find Suzuki Alto. Previously, Mehran was Suzuki’s most affordable car but now that it’s discontinued, Alto has taken its place. Suzuki Alto is the most selling car in Pakistan and that too by a huge margin. It’s a major upgrade from Mehran due to its stylish curves, beautiful interior, better seats, significantly better performance, and spacious leg, head, and boot room.

It has three variants: VX, VXR, and VXL. VX is the base variant while VXL being the top variant with power steering, power windows, and automatic transmission. The XV starts from PKR 1.35 million while the VXL costing around PKR 1.55 million.

Another car in this segment is also Suzuki and that is Suzuki WagonR, which is also a very hot selling car at this time.

The next new car in this price range is Suzuki Cultus’s Cultus VXR, Cultus VXL, and Cultus AGS. VXR being the base variant and the AGS being the top gear. Fortunately, after the recent federal budget, the prices of these cars have fallen to some extent. This has helped Cultus AGS come down from PKR 2.2 million to PKR 1.97 which is within this price range we are discussing.

Suzuki Cultus has been cherished a lot by Pakistani buyers for almost 2 decades now.

Another car you can find in this range is Kia Picanto, which is a very good car in every aspect. Lastly, you can find the base variant of Suzuki Swift for 1.97 million while the top variant of the DLX is worth 2.1 million which falls into the next price range we are going to discuss.

That’s all the new cars you can buy within this price range. Although you can buy several JDM cars, know that they are used and often refurbished. Some of these are Toyota Mark II Grande 2.0, Toyota Camry, Nissan Bluebird, Honda Life, Honda N Wgn, and Diahatsu Mira.

Besides, you can find all the sedans in this price range but they will be older models and therefore, quite used. These include Honda City, Honda Civic, Toyota 1.3, 1.6, and even Toyota Corolla 2.0 D older than the 2011 model.

PKR 2 million to PKR 3 million

At this price you can find several C-segment cars as brand new, these include Changan Alsvin, Proton Saga, Honda City, and Toyota Yaris. These are all very good and highly demanded cars.

Furthermore, you can buy a lot of imported cars such as Toyota Axio, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Prius, Toyota Passo, Nissan Note, and many more,

You can also find used Toyota GLi and Xli in fairly recent models such as 2012 to 2018. They are fairly decent models with although not many features but good enough for Pakistani roads and usage.

If you go further up in the Toyota Corolla lineup, you will also find Altis 1.6, Altis 1.8 CVT, and Altis Grande 1.8, but a bit older models and those too on the higher end of this price range. If you’re looking for luxury cars at this price range, fortunately, you can find Toyota Mark X

The other carmaker whose sedan is mostly found in the Pakistani market is Honda. Since we’ve talked about Honda City before, now we want to talk about Honda Civic, which is a very adored car amongst Pakistani consumers. In this price range, you can find Honda Civic from 2010 to 2017 model years.

Furthermore, you can find Honda Accord from the 2001 model year to 2007 in this price range. You can also find the Mercedes C 180 and BMW 3 series but the latest ones amongst these will be as old as 2005. The only SUV in this price range is Mitsubishi Pajero, which was discontinued in 2006. Lastly, you might find some models of Honda BR-V just at the top of this price range.

PKR 3 million to 5 million

Now, this is a very good price range for new and used cars that are in good condition and have some of the latest features.

First off, in this price range, you can get the top variants of Toyota Yaris and Honda City, brand new. Other new cars at this price range are Toyota Corrolla X 1.6, 1.8, and Grande X. As you go up this price range you will find all variants of Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, DFSK Glory 580, Proton X70, Kia Sportage Alpha, and Kia Sportage FWD. MG5 and DFSK Glory 500 are highly anticipated cars in this price range for this year.

Those are all the locally provided new cars you can find in the Pakistani market and each one of these is an admirable car. Besides these, we can find several JDM cars.

The first one we like to mention is Toyota Aqua because it’s comfortable, fuel-efficient, and feature-rich. Another car in the same category is Nissan Nismo Note, which is also hybrid, comfortable, and feature-rich.

If you need a station wagon, Toyota Fielder is a very good car at this price range and you’ll find it in quite good condition. Toyota Rush is a worthy SUV in this range.

If you need a powerful car for offroading and traveling long distances with huge luggage, you can find a Toyota Vigo in very good condition within this price range.

Fortunately, several high-end luxury cars can be found in this range. These include Audi Q2, Audi A3, Toyota Camry Hybrid 2011 and before, Toyota Mark X 2008-10, Mercedes c250, and BMW 7 series.

PKR 5 million to 10 million

At this price range, most of the cars are crossover and SUVs with a couple of luxury sedans. Let’s start with Kia Sportage AWD which is the top-of-the-line variant and is very hot selling at the moment. The next new cars early in this price range are MG HS, Hyundai Tucson, Isuzu D-Max, Toyota Rush, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Kia Sorrento.

Haval is expected to launch H6 and Jolian soon while Kia Grand Carnival and Toyota Fortuner are at the very end of the price range. A very healthy addition to the Pakistani market’s luxury sedan has been Hyundai Sonata.

You can also find 8th generation Honda Accord and 7th generations Toyota Camry used in this price range. If you are a fan of German cars then you can find Audi A3, A4, A6, and Q3 as well as several Mercedes classes. BMW lovers can also find 7 series cars at this price range.

Beyond 10 million

Now, this is a price range for ultra-luxurious SUVs and Sedans. Starting from the lower end of this price range, We can get a brand new Honda Accord. Around the same price, we can get BMW X1 and X2 while the i3 and X3 are further up this price range. So just as we go further up we find the three electric Audi e-Tron Quantro cars that are the talk of the town these days.

Continuing on the same trajectory we have the 8th generation Toyota Camry and the 15th generation Toyota Crown. Then there is a huge gap in this price range and at almost 28 million we can get Toyota Prado. Again there’s a huge gap and then we finally reach several variants of Porsche and the three variants of Toyota Land Cruiser.

At last, you will find Range Rover Vogue at 80 million while its sports variant is around 45 million. Besides this, people import other high-end cars like Jaguar, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Nissan GTR but these cars are imported by owners themselves.
